IdeaCrew Expands Regional Presence with New DC Headquarters and an Additional Contracting Vehicle

Company awarded Washington DC Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) certification

Washington, D.C., June 19, 2018 — Strategy, enterprise design and technology service provider IdeaCrew today announced that build-out of its new headquarters in the nation’s capital is complete. The space is located at 1150 Connecticut Avenue, near Farragut Square, in downtown Washington DC.  The company also announced that it now has a Washington DC Certified Business Enterprise certification. Regionally, the company also holds Master Contractor status for Maryland’s Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Consulting and Technical Services Plus (CATS+) contract.

The announcements underscore IdeaCrew’s growing presence in the regional market to provide innovative software design and professional services, based on a multi-year track record of successfully supporting a number of local, state and federal government agencies and regional partnerships. For example, IdeaCrew designed, built and operates the health benefit exchange technology system for DC Health Link. The DC exchange is generally recognized as one of the country’s top exchanges, has twice won Amazon Web Services’ prestigious City in a Cloud competition, and is regularly called upon to share technological best practices to help other exchanges. IdeaCrew also supported a first-of-its-kind state-to-state partnership that enabled the Massachusetts Health Connector to draw on DC Health Link’s award-winning technology for its own small business offering.

Despite winning numerous accolades and awards for its work, the company has until recently adopted a relatively low public profile.

“We’ve been a well-kept secret, but now it’s time to throw open the doors,” said Dan Thomas, IdeaCrew’s CEO. “We’re positioned to move forward aggressively in public and private health exchanges, the employee benefits marketplace, open data collection and a range of professional services. Having vehicles such as the Certified Business Enterprise certification in place just makes it just that much easier to work with us.“

The Certified Business Enterprise (“CBE”) Program provides preference to District-based firms pursuing District Government opportunities and expands the availability of business opportunities with District-sponsored development projects.

IdeaCrew became a Maryland DoIT CATS+ Master Contractor in 2017. CATS+ allows the Maryland State government to procure IT consulting and technical services in a timely and economical manner by issuing task orders specific to its needs.
