DC Health Link earns second AWS City on a Cloud Innovation Award

DC Health Link, the District of Columbia’s health insurance marketplace operated on IdeaCrew’s platform, received the AWS City on a Cloud Innovation Award for the second time — having also won the award in 2016. The award recognizes state and local government organizations that use AWS cloud technology in innovative ways to improve services for residents.

IdeaCrew’s migration of DC Health Link to the cloud produced significant cost savings for the District and enabled a platform that now serves more than 100,000 members. The migration reduced the carrier tax that funds the exchange, saving the District millions annually and demonstrating that modern infrastructure choices have a direct impact on the affordability of public programs.
